Lind/Marchal/Wathen is a perennial market best seller due to its comprehensive coverage of statistical concepts and methods delivered in a student friendly, step-by-step format. The text presents concepts clearly and succinctly with a conversational writing style and illustrates concepts through the liberal use of business-focused examples that are relevant to the current world of a college student. Known as a "student's text," Lind's supporting pedagogy includes self-reviews, cumulative exercises, and coverage of software applications including Excel, Minitab, and MegaStat for Excel. And now, McGraw-Hill's adaptive learning component, LearnSmart, provides assignable modules that help students master chapter core concepts and come to class more prepared. This book is the best introductory to intermediate statistics textbook currently available. The authors do an excellent job of explaining how to go about doing statistics. The example problems are throughly worked out for the beginning student. All the steps needed to solve the various kinds of problems that a student will encounter in a statistics course are included. The notation used in the formulas is clear and straightforward. The treatment of p-values and multiple regression analysis is the best exposition to be found among current introductory/intermediate texts .I have taught 4-5,000 students statistics at the introductory, intermediate, and graduate level.I highly recommend this book for anyone taking an introductory to intermediate level course in statistics.

This was a useful book and had helpful examples using excel. I had hoped that it would have had examples using the TI83 calculator but other than that this was a good book for statistics.
Best Undergraduate Statistics book available

As an undergraduate and graduate statistics faculty, I have read and taught from many different statistics books (at least a dozen by a quick count). This book by Mason, et.al. is superior to all and far superior to many (including many texts used for graduate business statistics). It is clearly written, well organized, and does not use up a lot of space with massive amounts of output from statistics packages that one will not use outside of the classroom.I have recommended it many times to students as an alternate to the extant class textbook, for all of the graduate and undergraduate business statistics classes that I teach.
