This is an excellent reference work. It's use would be tosupport or supplement a standard collegiate text likeKachigan or Farber.Each chapter contains a fair amount ofexplanatory material followed by a series of solved problemsand sample problem sets. There is good coverage of frequencydistributions, the mean of a distribution, median, mode ,dispersion, moments, skewness , kurtosis, the laws ofprobability, curve fitting, time series, index numbers,regression/correlation, sampling theory, estimation anddecision theory. The decision theory includes the tests ofhypothesis, the null hypothesis, level of significance,Type I and II errors, Chi Square tests, contingency tables,the coefficient of contingency and the correlation of attributes.
