Great introduction to butterflies for preschoolers and up
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
This is a well-structured book on butterflies, and the paper is quite sturdy and thick which makes it ideal for young hands to flip over, and will hold up to long-term use. The book is laid out in mini-chapters, i.e. "The Egg", "The Egg Hatches", "Life as a Caterpillar", "Growing Bigger", "Becoming a Chrysalis", "A New Butterfly", and "Life as an Adult". Each chapter has vivid color photographs that tell the story of the butterfly, beginning with the hatching of the eggs, the feeding caterpillar, etc. Of all the butterfly books I've read through with my child, I found this title to be the best in terms of making my preschooler truly understand the life stages of a butterfly. I think this is most appropriate for ages 4-8.
