The best series of books to teach your child to read

My school sent these home for my son, and I taught him how to read. If they would not've sent these home, he would NEVER have learned how to read. They were using the Lucy Calkins "Balanced Literacy" program during school hours, and he was getting no where. I just thought he would pick it up like I did. Some kids really need to be explicitly taught to read. I loved these books so much, that I ordered them when my daughter was stuck at home during "remote school." I also taught her to read!
