"Splinters" is the second book of the trilogy Unhinged Fences. As the author, my first novel started me on a path for the second book of the trilogy, describing what follows after a destroyed American dream. As in "Unhinged Fences," we see the torn-down scenario of the white picket fence that so many women seem to long for. I wondered, should I write about the real-life drama of broken dreams, the Susan Hayward of it all, the "splinters" in life, so to speak? I felt compelled to do so, and thus, the title "Splinters."
