Sparkplug of the Hornets A Must for Young Aspiring Basketball Players
Published by Dedicated Thriftbooks Client , 4 years ago
I read this book in 1963 at thirteen years old. My eighth grade basketball team won the city league, the playoffs and then went to the state tournament and took third place. The book and story inspired me to the point I was playing with a basketball so much I ended up on the All State Tournament All Star team. I credit this wonderful story for boys with my continued career in the sport through high school, a walk on at college and playing for an AAU team in the Midwest until 25 years old. Meader captures the essence of those days when life was much simpler, a good lesson for today's youth. This book could easily be compared to the movie HOOSIERS.
