Reads a lot like a movie. Some melodramatic spots, but great perspective of deaf-hearing culture issues, if a few dated details (can't quite figure out when it takes place or was written -- 1970?). Seems like you can guess what's coming, but there's always a little twist and sometimes a big surprise. Very readable and compelling to the end.
