A man must save the life of a little girl who may be his own flesh and blood in this pulse-pounding novel of psychological suspense from the USA Today bestselling author of Kill All Your Darlings. When Michael Frazier's ex-wife, Erica, unexpectedly shows up on his doorstep, she drops a bombshell that threatens to rip his family apart: Her ten-year-old daughter is missing--and Michael is the father. Unsure whether this is the truth but unwilling to leave the girl's fate to chance, Michael has no choice but to follow the elusive trail of the child he has always wanted but never knew he had. Over the course of one night, lies that span a decade come bubbling to the surface, putting Michael, his wife, and his whole family in jeopardy. And as the window for a little girl's safe return closes, Michael will have to decide who can be trusted and who is hiding the truth....

Hang on! This story moves on the fast track!! Full of surprises -- all plausible. (I have a pet peeve about twists that come out of the blue as an author's easy out. Those tales lose credibility. Come on, put in the plot-work that David Bell does.) This was my second Bell read, and I had to laugh about the beginning: the action starts (lickedy-split) when a woman knocks on a door at night ... just like "The Forgotten Girl"! I don't know if this is Bell's signature or merely a coincidence; it's fine either way. I just finished the book, and I already miss all the characters, even the dysfunctional nut-jobs. They came alive in the pages. Looking forward to reading more DB.

David Bell knocks this one out of the park!
Somebody’s Daughter is an excellent read full of twists and turns. It grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go. I look forward to reading more of David Bell’s work.

Before reading this book I have only read one other book by this author and decided to try this book too. And I loved it! It was an easy read that I finished it in a week and two days.
