Very highly recommended...getting useful information on when best to use the myriad of methods available to model/assemble is usually trial and error and this book offers that advice without you living the pain of going down the wrong path. This is the advice I paid for when ordering this book--and it was delivered on almost every page I've read so far. That being said...don't order this book as your FIRST resource on SW, but as a complement to existing material. My recommendation is that this is for those who have 6 months of experience or are converts from other 3D software--for those looking to efficiently increase their skill level.

SolidWorks 2007 Bible

I bought this book as an answer to my need for a more "intermediate level" reference. It has met most all my expectations thus far. Matt Lombard has done a great job in trying to educate the more experienced user as to the "how to's", "whys" and "why nots" of the software. I'd highly recomend the book for even the most advanced "power" user.
If you buy one SolidWorks book, this is it

Ever since SolidWorks decided to do away with their reference book several years ago they have only supplied a poorly written help file or pointed users to go to their VAR for limited training. All users have been starving for a desk reference and often rely on SolidWorks forums and blogs to figure things out. This book complies several years worth of information from those forums and blogs and from Matt himself, who has been using SolidWorks for a long time. This book is very "real" regarding praising the softwares strengths as well as pointing out it's weaknesses when deserved. If that sounds like what you are looking for, then pick it up!
Not for the new user

I am a relatively new SolidWorks user with less than two years of experience with the product and bought this book on recommendations from several SolidWorks user websites. Those recommendations were right on the mark. The author is a highly respected guru in the SolidWorks community, and he shares many of the little tips and tricks learned since the earliest releases. This is what has been the most helpful to me because many of these tips are not found in the training materials. The book covers a wide range of topics, so you will find yourself jumping around a bit, but I didn't find that to be too much so. I found the book to be clearly written and easy to understand, though you need to be already familiar with the product. I would also classify the target audience as being intermediate to advanced users. Most who purchase this book should find enough new ideas to pay for it many times over.
