Many characters in this book are brought together from her other novels but it's not necessary to read the other books first, as their roles in this book don't depend upon previous knowledge of them. There aren't many writers of Grae's caliber and every book she wrote is a jewel, this one too. **Remember - if you want your favorite authors to keep writing they have to be able to earn a living doing it, so, if possible, buy the book NEW to provide the author with royalties. If you're not going to keep it in your collection put it in the recycle bin to make another book.**
