There is a difference between the fear of The Lord and being afraid of The Lord.

On July 8th, 1741, Puritan pastor Jonathan Edwards preached a sermon that pricked the hearts of a generation. He titled his sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."

Edwards' message was a word fitly spoken for his generation, God also has a message for this generation. While His essence remains unchanged, He addresses our shifting society with a message that resonates today, emphasizing His attribute of being a good good Father. He is a kind, compassionate, and merciful Father who desires to establish a personal relationship with each individual, desiring that none would perish. The reality and severity of Hell remain unchanged, but it is out of His Love that He has provided a way for us to have an intimate relationship with the One that our souls yearn for.
