A detective hired to stop a hotheaded temperance worker from harassing bar patrons has a change of heart when someone threatens her life. When she seeks safety in the detective's arms, he will do anything to protect the sensuous woman who has inflamed his desire.
the heroine of this novel is Hannah Sullivan-a rabid temperence woker and Bible thumper. She's trying to run all the Saloons out of Fortune for all the wrong reasons. Likewise the hero, Ramsey Kellogg, an ex-pinkerton detective, is a hard living, hard drinking man who's hired to protect the saloons-and his die hard reasons for doing so are as misguided as hers. This is a good story of two people in search of family and running from the worst sorts of family in their pasts. If you enjoy reading Western romance you'll probably enjoy this story. The two characters are a lil too slow to realize the error of their ways, IMO, but they do have a happy ending. The love scenes are B-, I'd give the overall story a B+.
