In this book you will learn how process behavior charts can be used effectively when limited data is available.Part One teaches how to track a process while making different products: Difference... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Let's face it, traditional SPC is ancient (Shewhart's control chart was invented in 1922) and it is taught that way, and it is totally unsuited for modern manufacturing techniques. The book is short and to the point. The techniques are solid. Two gripes: 1) one must type in all the data to run the examples (how quaint!) rather than downloading the data files; 2) the author doesn't clearly show his work. Perhaps this latter point is a feature rather than a bug, to get you to really work through the examples. Make sure you work alongside him using Excel or your favorite stats package, or a handy chunk of papyrus.
