A study conducted during the 2008 and 2009 wet seasons with Gero local and Sosat improved pearl millet varieties, under windward and leeward shelters, cropped at 5, 15, 25, 35 and 45m away in Azare and Gamawa shelterbelts of a 20-year-old, pure stands of neem trees in Nigeria, using a fixed-nested pattern and randomized in a complete block design with 4 replications. Results was to determined the effects of multiple belts on yield of pearl millets on-farm in arid regions with short rainy seasons. This is to stimulate continuous studies for socio-economic improvement of farmers and people in the regions.
