Dungeons and Dragons with a main character

Yes, it's another fantasy adventure against an unspeakable evil, but instead of the chosen one destined to fulfill a grand quest, we get a lovable rogue. It has all the necessary elements to be a good fantasy adventure. Go beyond the typical hack and slash that fills this genre (though there still are some rather good fights) and add a bit of mystery and investigation for a unique story all it's own. A great book to curl up with and tons of reread value.
