The little boy's hair was a mess, and his mom wanted to cut it down, but he wouldn't do it and ran out to play with the puppy. One day, two green leaves grew out of his hair. The boy loved it very much, shading it from the sun, sprinkling it with water, and telling it stories ...... In order to protect the fragile little green shoots, the boy promised his mom to lose his hair and planted the green shoots on the hillside. Later, the boy grows up, and what was once a green shoot grows into a big tree, and the boy brings his wife and children to it. The whole book revolves around the theme of growing up, and the boy learns to take responsibility and care for others in his love for the green shoots.
