Frank Balenger, the resolute but damaged hero of David Morrell's acclaimed Creepers, now finds himself trapped in a nightmarish game of fear and death. To save himself and the woman he loves, he must... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Amanda and Frank Bslenger are back. After the horror at the Paragon Hotel, Amanda and Frank are together trying to get back to a normal life. Then they receive an invitation to go to a Time Capsule club. While there, they are drugged and separated. Frank now has to follow clues to get to Amanda while trying not to get arrested or killed by the mysterious Karen, the woman that sent out the invitation and seems to be everywhere Frank is at. Amanda has been taken to a house with four other people. The common thing between all of them is that they were survivors of different situations. Now, they need to follow the rules of the mysterious Game Master. Once they go through all of the "game" they will be rewarded. This is a great thriller. Not knowing what the games they play or what the rules is keeps the group on there toes. Frank is trying to do everything that he can to get to Amanda, but it seems that the odds are stacked against him. I really liked this story, it had a lot of similar things to Creepers. If you liked Creepers, you will like Scavenger.

This one reminded me of the "Saw" movie series. A very quick and enjoyable read.
Great, as usual

Was a little bit let down with Creeper's, but boy oh boy, Scavenger's restored my faith in David Morrell's ability to produce a top class thriller. Can't wait for the next novel to come along. R Elliott

David Morrell's SCAVENGER receives veteran classically trained stage actor Patrick G. Lawlor's vivid reading style, which brings to life the high-tech hunt for a 100-year-old time capsule - a hunt spiced by fear and danger. Any interested in audio stories of high intrigue and danger will love the drama here.
Your Hunt for a Good Author is Over Now That You've Found Morrell

Although this is the sequel to Creepers you certainly do not need to have read that novel before tackling this one, although obviously this novel being a sequel does let you know the identity of two characters who ultimately survived the Paragon Hotel from Creepers so you may wish to put this one aside to get the full of enjoyment of Creepers out of the way first. Scavengers is certainly not the most realistic novel you will ever read and in fact would probably be the least realistic of all of Morrell's work but saying that Scavenger is a non stop action filled read that you will forget about everything else until you reach the final page. Although around the same length of Creepers, Scavenger is a lot thinner than most of Morrell's novels, but it is still well worth your money. In Scavenger an intelligent loner video game designer has come up with the ultimate role player game and maybe reality show down the track. He wants to be referred to as The Game Master but to his victims he is a terrifying voice in the headset they are forced to wear as they partake in the ultimate scavenger hunt for a ghost town's hidden time capsule. The Game Master has given his hand selected team forty hours to find the capsule or it is game over for them, if any of them do not obey his rules it is game over for that player straight away. He also has a separate game for survivor of the Paragon Hotel (I won't give his name away here in case you have yet to purchase and read Creepers) who will do anything to save a fellow survivor of the Paragon who is rather fond of and now a reluctant player of the ultimate scavenger hunt.
