God Invites Us not only to read the Bible, but to immerse ourselves in it. Then as we read, we find ourselves connecting with God so that we are changed into the kind of people we've always wanted to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've read a lot of books about prayer and meditation. The strength of this book is that she includes several different approaches, so that people with various personalities all have a chance to find something that will fit their own style. For example, people who are visual, for example, may be drawn to the method of St Ignatius, while people who are more cerebral might like to try lectio divina. I found this much easier to read than most books on meditation -- it is written in a very simple and accessible style.
Great Practical Guide to Meditation
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 21 years ago
I purchased this book hoping to gain some more depth in my time with God...I wanted to understand what meditation really is...cause it's not native to american culture. It was a worthy investment. It is not written from a purely academic standpoint, but rather very practical standpoint, yet not so simple as to dismiss your intellect. With great examples and practice of meditation as you read...this is a must have for anyone looking to really deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. It's a great resource for anyone looking to seriously take on some new disciplines in order to have a transformed heart and life. This is a book for the casual reader who wants to be a serious seeker of God's heart.
