Underrated Gem

One of my most fondly-remembered children's books (I think my mom still has it in her home after all these years 😁). The gorgeous artwork by Ilse Plume is an invaluable aspect that really makes this particular telling stand out. However, the text is also both very engaging and accessible, while still teaching new (for most native English-speaking children, anyway) terms like "Tsarina." I will absolutely be giving this edition to my future children.
