I bought this book on the spur of the moment, thinking: "Why not one more book about my favorite author?", thinking it would be an abreviated anthology of some of his wittier or more original passages in this field. What I found was a very readable and well footnoted analysis of this complex and deep personality, organized along natural and thoughtful lines. I never once caught myself asking: "Now, why did Walsh say that?" For someone having only heard of Msgr. Knox, it's an easy road map to direct further reading of the originals. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
