I really enjoyed reading this book. Edwards does a great job of walking the reader through the theology of revival. He frames the work around the story of Hezekiah and then relates revivals throughout history to the truths he pulls out of the biblical account. The range of revival themes is completely thorough, no stone is left unturned. It's one of those books that is filled with classic quote after quote from revival men of old and genuine account after account. Great resource to pull gems of insight and wisdom from (if you've read The Hidden Life of Prayer you'll know what I mean). The two chapters, An Experience of God and Holiness of Life, were alone worth the price of the book. At the end of his study, Edwards also includes personal accounts of 5 revivals he had the privilege of witnessing. All in all, very solid intro book to revival and worthy addition to anyone's library. It will ignite a fresh passion to see God move in your life, the Church, and the world.
