Republicans Do the Dumbest Things

Republicans Do the Dumbest Things. Just ask any Democrat. And vice versa. The more you read and observe about this politics thing, Will Rogers once noted, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other.Crawford follows up his hit books Rock Stars Do the Dumbest Things and Movie Stars Do the Dumbest Things with a volume that reinforces what we've known all along -- Republicans Do the Dumbest Things. From George Bush barfing on the Japanese prime minister to Ronald Reagan's announcement of nuclear war, Republicans Do the Dumbest Things is the first book to celebrate and catalogue the hilarious heritage of the GOP.This collection includes all the misguided actions, bizarre statements, and embarrassing moments of notable GOP members, including Bob Dole, Helen Chenoweth, Pat Buchanan, George W. Bush, David Duke, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Rudolph Giuliani, Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Richard Nixon, and Dan Quayle.A perfect sample: -- Newt Gingrich is guilty of an embarrassing self-contradiction. When he was a graduate student, Newt complained to his mother about his lack of money, saying, I don't want to go to work. Years later, Newt declared, I personally favor mandatory requirement of work for everybody, including women with small children.Republicans Do the Dumbest Things is the perfect book for Election 2000, a funny, edgy examination of Republican antics that is sure to be as controversial as it is entertaining. Democrats will love it. Republicans will hate it. And everyone will want it.

I love the whole series

Don't forget there is one on Democrats (I mean those other hypocrites) too!

Perfect!

A brilliant skewering of prominent hypocrites (whoops! I meant Republicans). Bill Crawford relentlessly exposes the inanity of the Republican party by quoting only a fraction of the dumb things they said. Some times you want to laugh, other times you want to weep when you recall that the people quoted in this book hold very prominent and powerful positions in the government. Either way, a very enjoyable book.
