31-Day Devotional from Bestselling Author and Bible Teacher John MacArthur In the busyness and trials of life, it's easy to drift away from the Savior. We may continue to go to church and even read the Scriptures and pray, but we can still lose our first love. Christ commended the church in Ephesus for their works and for their intolerance of false doctrine yet admonished them to remember and return to their first love--him. In the same way, our outward religiosity can mask an inner lack of love for our Savior. In this 31-day devotional, John MacArthur takes readers down a biblically prescribed path as they rediscover who Christ is, what he has done, and how they must respond. Each entry will move readers from understanding to application to reflection and prayer, with a goal of rekindling their first love for Christ. Makes a thoughtful gift for any believer.

If you’re getting distracted by the cares of this world then please seek out things like this, and even if you don’t think you are, please read such books as this and ask those closest to you who are believers how you’re really doing to help keep yourself on track.
If you don’t have close and trustworthy relationships with other believers, have you prayed for Him to provide them? One name the Lord is called in scripture is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord is my provider.
“Knowledge of the Holy” is another good book.
But these books assume you’re already in a right relationship with God through Christ alone, and that the Holy Spirit dwells in you per Acts 2, Romans 6, Matthew 28, meaning responding to His grace according to Jesus’ words and God’s word that’s thousands of years old and NOT according to the traditions of men that have sprung up in the last few centuries.
Please read whole books of the Bible in context, especially John through Romans, as they’re such a good foundation as to the heart and intent of the true gospel of attaining peace with God and ourselves and each other, and then please keep going with reading the Word.
I think you’ll be glad you did!
Praying for you to believe Jesus and His first followers who were with Him, instead of what’s comfortable or familiar or “contemporary.”
Matthew 7 is very relevant as well. We can think we are doing all these great things but we must do HIS will alone, or what’s the ultimate point?
