106 pages in and it's still boring. Maybe I'll finish it. Maybe not.

Started it. Can't make myself finish it so far. 100+ pages in, and it’s still boring. A man called “Redshirt Jones” aka “Miami Jones” who vowed never to return to his home town is talked into returning to help his high school coach who was a victim of a financial scam by another of the coach’s former students, Brett. Jones’ mother died years before while he was young. His father never recovered from her death. He turned to alcohol, neglected his son, and died in more recent years. We discover Jones’ father accidentally hit and killed a child while driving drunk—a piece of information that was just dropped into conversation instead of building up to it. Jones meets up with Brett and tries to get him to talk about scamming coach out of his retirement fund. Of course, Brett denies it, avoids Jones, and then blames a Russian. Okay, now you’re caught up on almost everything I know about this book after 106 pages. Maybe I’ll get back to it. We’ll see.
