In the City of Angels, Glover has it all - the looks, the brains, good friends and a successful career. Most would count her sexy, adoring boyfriend as the biggest prize of all, but when they become engaged, is there something still missing? Meanwhile, Max, the newcomer to LA, is struggling to break free of his professional and personal ruts and adjust to his surroundings. A chance encounter with Glover in an employment office gives new meaning to the phrase 'reality check' as the pair try to sort through the drama that is bound to happen if they get together.
Great story and the characters are very likable. The tone is very uplifting and the plot is a little predicatable but I did enjoy this story!
Reality Check

Independent and full of life, Glover works hard at her job and plays even harder with her best friends and co-workers, Mona and Charmaine. Wherever they go, they're sure to be the life of the party. Glover is dating Lionel, a successful securities broker and financial planner. He wants her to move in with him, but Glover wants to make sure she's truly in love with him and not just the frills and thrills he showers her with. Max leaves Lake Charles, Louisiana in search of a better job and to find the woman of his dreams. After he settles in California, he finds a job, but it's far from being his dream job. He befriends Smitty, who lives upstairs and they both set out to find better employment and love. Glover and Max literally cross paths as he is rushing for an interview at the employment office where Glover works. They're trying to keep their relationship on a professional level, but the animal attraction is so strong, newly engaged Glover is having second thoughts about marrying Lionel. However, the reality is, if they don't get their feelings for each other in check, will they be able to handle the forthcoming drama? Pete expresses the personas of the characters so vividly; they come to life. My favorite character is Smitty, tall, lanky, hilarious, a self-proclaimed ladies man; we all know someone like him. Although predictable, the plot is plausible and flows smoothly. REALITY CHECK will have you engrossed in drama and hilarious moments. Reviewed by Sharon Lewis of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers
