Depardon, born in 1942, is co-founder of Gamma, a member of Magnum, and a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his still photography. He has directed 16 films since he made his first in 1969, and has received the Robert Capa Gold Medal, the C sar for Best Documentary and a nomination for an Academy Award.
