i have used this book as a reference, time and time again!even though most of the pictures are line drawings, i found that they still facillitate understanding of the skills. every lesson is clearly and thoroughly spelled out with full explanations as to why each step is taken. an excellent resource for the graduate nurse or even someone switching to icu/med-surg. from another specialty (who might need a bit more info than some books provide). absolutely jam-packed with useful stuff!
