Loved this series! I really enjoyed this book and was happy to have the other two handy because I couldn't wait to find out it all works out. Energetic writing and very fun to read.

This book was so interesting, it kept my attention throughout the whole book. The good vs. evil theme is awesome. I am somewhat new to Linda Howard but I plan to read many more of her books. If you liked this book you will also enjoy Love Returns Through The Portal Of Time.

My first Howard book, it was a great Friday nite read. I won't waste time revealing all the spoilers as that has alredy been done. Just let me say that the book was a great intro to the series. Interesting to note how the authors worked to tie their works together yet retain their individuality as writers. Able to accomplish an etire story that locks the storyline elements from three seperate short novels into a cohesive series, the communication between the authors is remarkable. If Linda Howard has become such a disappointment to so many, and I liked this first installment in the Raintree series as much as I did, I guess I had better go back and find some of her really good, older works. It appears that at her most awful, Linda Howard still commands respect for her talent.

Dante Raintree is the Danir chieftain because his psi powers are stronger than anyone else in the Raintree clan. His heir Gideon wants Dante to marry and produce children so these offspring can be the new Danir if something happens to their leader. Dante, owner of the Inferno casino, sees on the security that a woman is winning too easily. He has Lorna Clay brought to him to find out how she is controlling winning when he realizes she is a powerful though untrained psychic who he believes is a stray or a member of the Ansara clan that the Raintree clan defeated in a war hundreds of years ago. Once he makes sure she is not his enemy, he acknowledges that he has romantic feelings for her and she reciprocates those feelings. However, members of the Ansara clan have grown powerful in the centuries of their exile and plan to kill the Danir and the rest of the royal family. Dante and Lorna don't know they are targets and the fire and accidents weren't accidents at all. Linda Howard has the magic touch when it comes to writing paranormal romances and RAINTREE: INFERNO is one of her best to date. It stars two protagonists who act like cats around each other until they have to trust one another. The attempted assassinations by the enemy add a nice twist of excitement and suspense to this enthralling tale. Next month read Gideon's story in Raintree: Haunted. Harriet Klausner
Linda Howard does it again...

This book was just wonderful. Its one of those relaxing books that doesn't tax your brain. You just read and enjoy. A lot of paranormal books require concentration to sort everything, figure out what is what, not so this one! Yeah, the heroine does spend a lot of time under mind control, but the heroine was also very interesting and leaped off the page. Dante was a treat as well. The book wasn't very sexual but I wouldn't have believed it if it had been. The heroine didn't trust very well and I didn't see her giving her body to a man right off the bat and enjoying it. What it came down to in this book was TRUST. She had to work her way through her past pain and learn to trust Dante and she did. His actions were key in aiding her to trust him. It wasn't the normal comedy drama of Linda Howard that she writes now, such as Mr. Perfect but it was more in the style of her older books, high drama and a great degree of characterization. The paranormal element was wonderful. Raintree: Inferno was a well written book and one in which I felt that by the end of it, I knew the characters intimately. I loved it!!!
