This is a nice coffee table style book about the history of railroad stations accross the world with an emphasis on European and American stations. The book includes a nice blend of historical as well as current photos of the various stations. The text follows the images well (the reader gets to see much of what the text describes), but for the price, one could enjoy the book without reading the text. This book would make a nice gift for either a train lover or an architecture lover. I own the 1996 edition which apparently you would have to special order. I would think the 1998 hardcover edition should be just as good.
Easy read and full of facts

This book may be fairly small but the historical information is interesting and the pictures are very good. A good book for the lay person.
