Race for the Record brings it all back with a blow-by-blow account of the unbelievable 1998 season. Relive every historic homer with colorful descriptions of how and where they happened (and off of which pitcher)...and relive the emotional rollercoaster that these two lords of the long ball rode all season long as the pushed the record--and each other--to previously unimaginable heights. With more than 100 full-color photographs.

Terrifically knowledgeable, evocative text & great photos.

A real valentine to the '98 baseball season, featuring the heroic expoits of McGwire and Sosa. Since it's an "official Major League Baseball" book, all controversy is avoided (such as the "andro" incident). But, overall, the tone is breezy and expert, the layouts are MTVish and contemporary (with big photos and large type. It's a great gift for the baseball fan in your family.
