I love these strips that show the early days of the Cathy comic strip.

Cathy's struggles are poetic and true to life. She wants to stop smoking but can't think without a cigarette. She loves Irving but can't make him jealous. Poor Emerson. (I'll let you read the book so you'll find out why I feel sorry for him). I identify with Cathy so much because I used to have similar struggles. This collection is worth reading if you like the more recent stories like "Shoes: Chocolate for the Feet".
