A topical guide for raising children from the book of Proverbs. This book arranges the proverbs into more than seventy realistic, helpful topics, such as trust in God, obedience, temper, self-control, boasting, arguing, honesty, love, friendship, happiness, faithfulness, stewardship, and complaining.
This book is very helpful for those who are trying to raise children using Godly wisdom. The book is organized by topic, so you can flip to the topic that you may be dealing with and find proverbs addressing that issue. It is so very easy to use. I find it encouraging as well to read the proverbs in this order.
Loved It!

I love this topical guide! It not only was great to use for my children but was also great for me! I loved that I could go to the index and find each heading pertaining to spiritual issues. (Self-control, lying etc.) I think this is good for memorization as well!
If you're looking for wisdom...

If you are looking for wisdom for how to be a better parent, this is a great resource for you because it is straight from the book of Proverbs (The Bible). Barbara Decker offers topical lists of proverbs on a wide range of subjects, everything from selfishness to bribery. Her intention is to help parents familiarize themselves with the pithy statements so that they can be ready to teach their children wisdom when opportunities arise. Decker's organization of Proverbs is very useful--she makes the wisdom literature much more accessible to busy parents who often don't have a lot of energy to search for just the right wise word. I found the range of topics to be broad and practical. The one negative feature of the book is the translation of Scripture she uses- King James. This translation is at times hard to understand and not the most user friendly for the audience parents are trying to reach, their children. But, aside from that, the book is helpful in its ability to put practical sayings from Proverbs at the tip of your fingers- or should I say tongue! I would recommend it.
