This is a great resource material for the Pro/E program. I have learned a lot from this helpful guide.

This is a great book for a beginner. It covers a lot of info at a reasonable pace. It explains everything your doing so you understand why you're doing it. The methods used in this book are conducive to you remembering what you learned. I recommend this book to anybody trying to teach themselves ProE.

I have to admit that I am coming from being a mechanic into design, I knew nothing about Pro Engineer at all. This book did a very good job of explaining how to navigate through the very basic steps to create a part. Pro engineer is such a deep and complex program that no book will be able to teach it all. For me this book helped take away some of the intimidation of being new to the software. I also bought the Advanced Tutorial by Roger and it was also a decent book, it starts to expand on the basics and has a fun project that challenges a beginner.
excellent book for beginners

This was a required text at University of South Florida and I was very glad that it was. Very clean and simple instructions, and best of all, if you don't understand what the author is writing in the text, the CD will visually show you what to do Excellent book with a well laid out structure, advancing you from simple parts to more complex shapes (turbine blade is one of the last parts made in this text)
Excellent ProE Introduction

I am a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of New Hampshire. I used this book to introduce a Freshman level design course to the use of Pro/Engineer. I selected this one based on its thoughtful step-by-step approach. Toogood also keeps his book up to date with a new edition for each new release of ProE. The reaction from the students in the class is generally positive and they are able to progress through the ten lessons at the rate of about one per week. Because the author, Toogood, has experience in teaching this material to his own students he correctly anticipates where they are likely to be confused or make mistakes. The text is very good at anticipating these pitfalls and explaining how to avoid them. I also used the text as the basis for a "short course" taught to upper level undergraduates. We were able to progress through the material at the rate of two lessons per day, making the ten lessons fit nicely into a one week course. Just commenting on some of the negative statements made by reviewers of the Wildfire 2.0 book; this is an introductory book, but it contains about as much information as I can expect my students to absorb in an introductory course. While not perfect, it is pretty good and certainly doesn't contain the numerous errors claimed by some reviewers. Overall, this is an excellent introduction to a powerful CAD package and I recommend it highly.
