As a hypnotherapist and user of NLP, I found Dr. Horton's Primary Objective to be not only a gripping story, but one which brilliantly illustrates the concepts of Neurolinguistic Programming Psychology (NLP). The idea of wrapping the precepts of NLP around a suspensful novel and illustrating the use of NLP in a "real world" scenario brings home an understanding of the concepts in a way that removes it from dry textbook teaching. In this book we get educated and entertained at the same time which anchors the techniques in our understanding. The Training Manual at the end of the book would be reason enough to buy the book. It is excellent in it's clarity and succinctness.

Great book

This is a great book. Since I have read it, my friends are also purchasing this book. Dr. Horton is unreal.

This book has two excellent points as a NLP text.

One excellent point is that the novel part of this book contains five techneques shown in italic. These five techniques are the most practical and useful ones for beginners and indivisual practioners of NLP.The other excellent point is that the story in novel part inplicitly and explicitly explains the relationship(or difference) between NLP and other method such as subliminal projection.Through novel part in this book, the beginner of NLP will efficiently obtain both powerful techniques to use and alert knowledges on the serious problems concerning mind-control. And then, through manual part, they can proceed more. A good book.

A deep thought provoking book

"Primary Objective" by Will Horton is an interesting combination of a fictional story/metaphor and NLP course manual. The story has incredible distortion which keeps the reader paying close attention to every twist and turn to the end. Though some spots could have been played out a little more, the ending is a wonderful "cliff-hanger" of sorts and leaves the mind open to imagine what could come. The course manual is one of the best outlines of NLP available and provides many exercises which a trainer could utilize for group workshops on management, communication, and perception (amongst many areas). The NLP course manual is a must read for anyone who works with people on a daily basis!
