this is a decent book. I purchsed it as a textbook for intro to computer class. I like the CD that comes with the book,it has exercises that teach me and walk me step by step through programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office 2007, Powerpoint, and Excel. I leared how to use Powerpoint and made my first powerpoint for class with lots of cool effects. It seems you can learn most of these things free on line, so I can't say I would have bought this if it wasn't required for class
