Released Pain
While sheltering in place alone, during the Covid Pandemic, I was able to tell my truth--through writing my poetry printed in this book. After the unexpected deaths of my mother and several of my other close family members, while the world was on lock down, I found myself inside of a dark place. My experience includes: experiencing grief and bereavement, but not having a support system; planning and attending socially distanced funerals; and feeling depressed about not being able to be with my family members at the time of their deaths. For several months, I tossed and turned; unable to fall into a restful sleep. So, during those dark nights--and long, sad days--I began to put pen to paper. I wrote down the sadness and other thoughts, that were going through my mind. And, I found writing to be very therapeutic. It was then, that I could finally release some of my pain and begin my healing journey.Related Subjects
