Ozzie, Sarge, Brett and Frankie have been best friends for as long as they can remember. The four of them graduated high school together and remained in their little town continuing to be little boys as long as life will allow them. But when Ozzie gets married things change, and becoming a father soon forces him to choose between his family and his friends. The four men live by the "Guy's Code" and what goes on with the four of them stays with the four of them. Ozzie chooses to spend time out with his friends, leaving his wife and children at home and allowing him to get into trouble-like fooling around with other women and doing cycles of steroids with his buddies. No one sees it as a problem until Sarge begins to grow close to Ozzie's young son and his wife. He develops a new perception, one from their side, and his conscience is conflicted. Ozzie is his best friend and could never turn him in, but he is watching the man destroy other people's lives. Sarge's conflict grows worse when Ozzie's drug habit forces him into some really tight positions that Sarge has to lie to get him out of. When the steroids make Ozzie so short tempered that he explodes and injures his tiny son, Sarge knows he must break the "Guy's Code" even though it will end his friendship with Ozzie forever.
