A professor of the Ancien R?gime is confronted by the sublime of technology, while clinging to the beauty of rationality. Through it all, police commandant Jean-Loup Chastel conducts the investigation with a certain edge of experience. He trusts his instincts, but relies on the evidence. And there's never enough.
