Born in Malaga, Spain, in 1881, Pablo Ruiz was a child prodigy. Adopting his mother's maiden name, Picasso was the first living artist to have an exhibition at the Louvre. He was chosen as one of Time magazine's one hundred most influential people of the twentieth century.
