A delightful series, with thoughtful half-metaphors.

As the first volume of the series, it serves as a wonderful introduction to our interesting cast of characters; those primarily being Owner, the strange inhuman innkeeper that thrives on the secrets of his guests, Spider, an ex-human turned monster who struggles to place himself in the world, and Butterfly, an enigmatic playboy of sorts who doesn't take anything all that seriously. This volume introduces you to the cast perfectly, and lays a wonderful groundwork for the themes that PTotN develops upon as the story unravels. The concept of monstrosity is an interesting one in this series; it's half-metaphor, half-literal. A delightful read for anyone interested in short-story manga series with overarching lore.
