Good Balance of Photographs & Facts

Reviewed by Madeline McElroy (age 8.5) for Reader Views (02/10) In this interesting, easy-to-understand book you can learn many facts about penguins and how they live. This book is full of cool penguin photographs. My favorite picture is all the baby penguins huddled together. I think this book has a good balance of photographs and facts, much like a picture book, but with more information. My favorite is the emperor penguin - they are the largest of all penguins and the babies are cute. The most amazing fact I learned is that penguins are defenseless - they have no way to protect themselves - luckily, they don't have many enemies. They do have some enemies in the water, but penguins are champion swimmers and divers. Another interesting fact is that some penguins live in the waters of Australia. If you like penguins, you should definitely buy this book! "Penguins" by Seymour Simon is really good.
