The history of a family through the years. Before purchasing the book, I hadn't realized that part of the story would cover events taking part during WWII and some of the chapters were hard for me to read. But eventually the family survived and the feeling, by the end of the book, was a good one.
Entertaining reading

The book may have had some faults in the writing process and storyline, but overall, it held my interest and even tho it was somewhat predictable, it was entertaining. It leaves a few holes and doesn't always jump around on cue, but the author lets you see and feel what the characters do. I didn't realize that it was a sequel to "Leonie", so it can be read on it's own merit and still be fun. Just read it and don't ask too much of the author! I now know that I want to read others that she has written.
