An Excellent Resource For Telephony Software Developers
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 27 years ago
If you're thinking about getting into telephony software development, Bob Edgar's book is an excellent place to start. The book starts out with a comprehensive introduction to telephony basics and jargon, and then moves onto more detailed discussion of computer telephony technologies such as Dialogic hardware. Bob Edgar has been developing computer telephony software since the earliest days of the industry, and is one of the industry's leading experts on the Dialogic voice processing platform. My only criticism of the book is that Edgar makes an occasional sales pitch for his company's CT development tools, but then so does every other author in the industry. Subtle sales pitch aside, it is an excellent resource for anyone who is serious about getting into computer telephony. Brian McConnell Pacific Telephony Design
