An explosive new action series! Ex-CIA agent John Barrone spearheads a secret strike force of elite law enforcement and intelligence professionals on a seek-and-destroy mission against America's enemies. As terrorists smuggle a bio-weapon of mass destruction into the West Coast, Barrone and his team race against time to take on the plotters.
This is the first of Johnstones books that I have read. The book kept me going from first to last. I will now have to try reading his Mountain Man series. My library has over 1000 books in it. (Yes, purists they are mostly paperback.)I am looking forward to the follow up to this series.

Loved it....after reading 29 of the Ashes series I was hoping it would be a bit different but along the same lines. I see another great series starting. I hope you all enjoy it as well
Not The Ashes Series

If you expect this to be another Ashes Series, the you will be dissapointed. Although the same ideas (thoughts) are there, it is not written in the same manor. However, if you enjoy William Johnstone's writing, then you will like this new series. It is going to be an interesting series to follow.

I just read "Code Name: Payback." It is a good read if you enjoy Mr. Johnstone's Ashes series and his other more recent works. The characters are likeable in the sense that you know who the good guys are even if you don't always hold the same opinions they do. They are multi-dimensional as well. Lots of room for plots and sub-plots with this new series. It will be very interesting to see if this bunch of Mr. Johnstone's characters are as long-lived (in publishable terms) as those of the Ashes series, and if they "grow" as the series progresses. Definitely a book for the "conservative-minded." You can almost see a sign post reading "NO LIBERALS ALLOWED."
Good read

As usual Johnstone comes through. Good new series(I hope). Don't miss it.
