I bought this book after reading "Big Cats" from the same series. I like that the font is large and the words are simple. It's a fun story about a girl spending time with her pet cat and rat. The illustrator did a great job with the characters' expressions. Despite it being 20+ pages long, it keeps the interest of my 2 yr old and hopefully it will help him recognize familiar words. There are only a few words per page. The words are simple & repeated frequently throughout the book and it is a good way to start learning to read using phonics.
