I'm 54 yrs old and remember sitting in my grandparents' living room as a small child, enthralled with Pantaloon. This is a wonderful book, wonderfully illustrated. My search is over and I can now share it with my own grandchild.
An absolute classic

Always on the lookout for books for my 18 month old daughter, I came across Pantaloon and was persuaded by the accompanying rave reviews to give it a try. I'm glad I did as the book immediately hooked her with its wonderful illustrations by Leonard Weisgard and its amusing story of a poodle who desperately wants to help out a reluctant baker. Pantaloon certainly deserves its rank amongst the pantheon of childhood classics and I have every confidence he will become an enduring favorite of my daughter's.

When I was a child, my elder sister's copy of Pantaloon was passed on to me. Thirty years later I still had it, though the cover had long been torn off. Nevertheless, I read it to my daughters and they both delighted in it as much as I had. I never quite gave up hope in finding a pristine copy of it one day. It's timeless; simply lovely.
For Poodle lovers!

Long, long time ago, when I was just a little girl, my sister and I would go visit our great aunt and in a special drawer she had wonderful books that she would read to us. Our favorite book was Pantaloon, a wonderful poodle who rode a bike and worked at a bakery. When my great aunt passed away we searched her house high and low for our favorite book, but it had long ago been lost. I have searched for the book for years, so I could share it with the children in my life. Now I have found it. I recomend this book to anyone who wants to cuddle up in a big chair on a raining day and read to a little one on their lap. What memories I have.
