GREAT BOOK!!

i'm not a big time pool player, but after reading this book i suddenly cought myself on the idea that i just wanna go to poolhall and spend an hour or two hitting the balls. the passion for the game, all the caracters in the book have, is very addictive. they so truly enjoy just beeing in that athmosphere, just holding the que, just playing the game! it's not about competition, it's about the love to the game, sharing that love to others. i couldn't stop reading, coz the language is so easy and the caracters are so real - it's true life and i'm sure you'll find a lot in common between the caracters in the book and the people you know (even if they don't play pool :)))) by the way, i was trying to use some of the techniques discribed in the book, and i got news for you - it works!!!! so if you are just starting to learn how to play or you already big pool fan or you are just looking for a good book to read - "PAINTING ON GREEN CANVAS" sould be your first choice :)))

What a great read!

I have shot pool very few times in my life. It was just something to do at the time along with hanging out with friends. But this book makes me want to play for real, to try some of the tips mentioned, maybe to hunt up Bob Watson for lessons! I never dreamed there could be so much camaraderie, so much fun, within the game itself. The book offers a lot of insight into the game and the characters themselves are so genuine...A must read!

I really enjoyed this book. It is the story of a young man whose passion for the game of pool leads him to develop some truly great friendships, and in the process, learn some of the most important lessons of his life. For pool players, it will be immediately clear that Bob Watson has had years of experience in the pool hall, and this book will provide valuable insights into the game. But for anyone who enjoys a great story, pool players and non-pool players alike, I highly recommend this book. You won't be able to put it down.

As a pool player, golfer and writer there are so many aspects to this book that I enjoyed. The dialog, the zen teaching of the game of pool, the true to life characters and the stories within a story are all reasons to keep turning the pages. I recommend this book without reservation. Great quick read and reread. Recommended to anyone who enjoys finding themselves inside an uplifting story with a bit of grit. If you liked "The Greatest Game Ever Played" this book will be a favorite as well. I was lucky to come across this book as it was referred to me by my brother who made a website for the author. Sometimes you get lucky.
