He's Old Fashioned and That's Not the Way Things Should Be

This is Connie Jensen's first year teaching, and she's been hired while the principal was away. Her assignment, teach first graders who have been sent back and slow second graders how to read at a the Pine Ridge Elementary School in the Georgia Mountains. And let me tell you she has some difficult children, but Connie believes that if she can make her class want to learn that they'll gobble up their assignments by leaps and bounds and she wants to use art and music to get them interested in reading. However Maury Donovan, the good looking principal, an ex-Air Force man, who seems to be more into skydiving then his job, has other ideas. He flatly orders her to lay off teaching the children any art at all. Art and music have nothing to do with reading. Connie disagrees and disobeys him on the first day. He calls her on the carpet and lets her know that she has to obey him. So there you have the seeds of conflict sowed right at the beginning of this sweet romance that I just know you'll love.
