As you might already know, Philip Agee was a retired CIA agent who waged a campaign to unveil all of the agency's secrets, including undercover identities, in order to render its operations ineffective. On the Run is an account of how American (and other Western) intelligence agencies hounded and harassed him while writing his first tell-all book Inside the Company and ever since. He found himself being regularly tailed on the street, arrested at customs, denied entry into numerous countries, and of course savaged by the media. His story is frightening sometimes.
