This text is ideal for Introduction to Occupational Therapy courses, or for anyone interested in learning more about the profession. It includes the history and basic philosophy of occupational therapy, followed by information about specific practice areas. Current trends in the field are also discussed, however this information could use some updating, given the 1994 publication date. The appendix includes commonly used documents from the American Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board. While useful, not all of the documents are the most recently pulished. Overall, this text is a great inroduction to the profession of occupational therapy, with its major drawback being the need for updating.
